Island Queen II Reviews
“Absolutely Fun & Entertaining !”
Reasonably priced $25 adults $20 for kids. My 5 year old daughter definitely enjoyed the Mustang watched plenty of dolphins, they had an open aquarium where she played with shrimp, baby fish, crabs, seahorses & other small sea critters. My husband and I had a blast as well. They allow you to take your ice chest, snacks, beer! To end the adventure we fought with pirates OH MY that was the best trip we loved it and want to go back soon.
“Great Fishing Trip”
Went out 4 times on the Island Queen II. Each trip was for 4 hours, did the morning and evening trip. The most the 3 of us caught was 49 fish on one trip and the least was 23. We caught several gaff tops, whiting, blue runner and a shark. Captain and deck hands made sure that my wife and daughter were taken care of. Every time I visit Port A in the future, I will be taking a fishing trip with the Island Queen II.
“Great fun for Family”
Took the 8am trip on the Queen and had a great time. Began with fast check in where you can get a temporary license if you need one and a good opportunity to load up your cooler. Coolers are recommended because in the late spring to late summer the ride can be very warm and a cold drink and light snack refreshing. The crew was very helpful giving clear instructions how to fish, helpful taking fish off and the patience to work with anyone no matter their disposition. Passengers caught everything from sharks to catfish in a variety of locations near the jetty and other locations. We also saw a few dolphins as they chased boats. This was good fun for family with kids 8 to 18. Recommendations - Casual beach wear for spring to summer, don't eat a big meal before riding and not expect to get sick, pack lemon lime soda and some crackers just in case, yogurt drinks for toddlers on a swaying fishing boat do not mix, pack a big goofy floppy hat if you don't want to get sunburn, and be sure to let your pet go potty before they ride.
“Island Queen 2- fishing boat - old ferry turned fishing boat experience”
We have been fishing off the Island Queen for many years but it has been about 7 years since we came last....probably mainly because we have only been coming down to Port A on Labor Day and it is too short a trip to spend all morning on a boat fishing. We have always loved the boat, and the crew is so helpful. We miss TJoe though, our favorite crew....who is now working on the dolphin cruise boat next door but the mates on this boat were very friendly and helpful.
For $45 pp, you get a 4 hour boat where the crew will take you to different sites and then take your catch off your hook for you! No Slimy fish to touch! Just the fun of catching them.
We had two very large Reds caught on the boat and probably 150 little fish - from catfish to sand trout to whitings. There were about 30 folks on the boat with us - plenty of room to spread out and fish. They usually go 3 places in the 4 hours -and move when nothing is biting.
A great morning fishing - had to be at Woody's at 7:30 for an 8 am departure. We bought a one day fishing tag for $11 additional, just in case!
Love this trip and will be back Labor Day weekend!
captain was great.. deckhand was great ...fishing was great ... ...it was all around a great trip... caught reds and a lot of gafftop as long as my arm.
“Great bay fishing charters”Go with a half day charter with the 2 best guides - Alex Porter or Cooper for a great day of redfish, trout and black drum fishing in the bay. Everyone is friendly!
